SO THIS WAS ONE AWESOME CON. It was my second year and a great way to spend my birthday/start off the year! I went to a few panels, talked with a lot of artists and suiters, met up with people I haven't seen in forever and met new faces that I'll hopefully talk to a lot more in this year. I'll have some pictures uploaded later.
FRIDAY
I got to San Jose Friday around 5ish with kelpy and milkandcooki, we dumped our shit at the hotel and my mom brought us to Amicci's for pizza! Really great place, the food looks like its been burned at first but its absolutely amazing. Waiter was super friendly and really great too.
Around 7ish we headed back, grabbed our stuff and walked to the con center to get our badges. Pre reg was a lil tough to find and by the time I got the badge it was 8 and I had to rush to the dance comp! Finding everyone there was tough too hfhfhfh. The competition was awesome though. Some incredible talent came out and some really unexpected styles of dancing too! I really loved seeing Dwudles and Leo out there, some crazy high energy! I loved it all, such a different feeling actually being there though.
After the dance comp my friend Rad brought me to the adult dragon panel for an hour, most of the time they were calling raffle but it was actually really funny during. After that I went to go back to my roomies by the creator's lounge and met some cool folks there. Lost my big eraser though rip.
SATURDAY
THE BIG MAIN DAY PRETTY MUCH. Woke up and got breakfast at the hotel alone since everyone else was sleep then went to the creator's lounge and doodled. Once we all met up we trekked up to the Live Animal Panel and oh my goodness it was adorable. Got to see and pet some real cool animals and I got pictures and video from there.
After that I hit up the Dealer's Den and got some rad loot. Bought a few lil things for the two who could not make it as well. uwu I had to hustle back to the hotel and get my suit on for the parade and while we were all waitin around in the prep place I got to hang with Ace and Wambamboodle. Both of them had adorable suits oh gosh. ;w; The parade was the best though, I didn't overheat and I stayed pretty active and tried my best to not be a static walker or anything ajhbsfajbf Got to talk to some really fantastic suiters after the main parade including a rad horse one with cute wiggly ears. After the picture we all got little fursuiting tags too! I stayed in the headless lounge for like an hour after just getting my energy back though.
I kinda wandered around in suit for a while after that then and swapped to normal clothes to go back and browse the dealer's den again. I checked out the Furoticon table just out of curiosity and then came back and got a deck and signed up for the beginner thing of it with Kelpy. It was really funny and pretty fun actually! They gave us boosters there and there was a three way tie with the table. Never happened in that panel before. I really liked chatting with the people there both the ones in charge and the players, it was real fun.
After the panel I ran off to the hotel to change into suit and get to the dance! I got to hear Rawkz0rz set and a lil bit of Genki's set before I was ready to drop from exhaustion ahaha! Stayed up a bit hangin and being silly with Ace and my roommates before going back and just being out like a light.
SUNDAY
We woke up hella late on Sunday. It was 10 when we got up and 11 byt he time we had all showered and packed up our stuff. Too late for the breakfast unfortunately but we found stuff to eat. I went out to the dealer's den early to grab what I could, got a lil badge from Teskine of my fursona in Senketsu all embarrassed. Its super cute ugh I LOVE HER ART. I drew her a badge too as a commission too.
I went off to the creator's lounge for the majority of the day after that, working on the sketch and inks and talking to people. Got a free poppyseed muffin cuz one table just had people bringing tons of food over ahaha! A friend from the furoticon panel met up with us and had his adorable corn snake too! I got to hold it and aaaa what a sweetie.went to subway before headin back to the con to get Teskine's badge colored and when we got back it turned out someone had stolen cooki's phone. Got all around the twitter for the con but we never got it back.
Headed to the Dealer's Den after running around a bit for leads on it and hung out with Teskine and Zhivago while coloring Tesk's badge. Was really cool to use her markers and watch each other work on stuff. Got a few markers from another dealer after the den closed too! really pretty colors and I WISH I KNEW YOUR NAME SO I COULD THANK YOU!!!
Afterwards I delivered cooki's badge and we hung around the creator's lounge and occasionally checked con-ops for the phone. I had to pack up really quick and lost a print I got from Rukis' sale though which sucked. It was really gorgeous too I was gonna hang it up on the wall even though it was small.
We headed home then and arrived back around 9 or 10ish. Overall good con with a kinda bad ending to it, but oh well I can at least say i have some amazing memories and photos and new friends. <3
I was really hoping to come across pictures of Mechies new head, but of course even though people took a butt ton of pictures, I can't find one. For those of you who don't know what Mechie looks like, he's the white dragon with a black mane and has armor his bottom jaw and horns with armor that light up, with a smoke meth hail satan hoodie, please show me pictures god dammit
Maaaaan I really wish I couldve gone to anthrocon 2013.. But I'm poor and i have no transportation. Looking at all the pictures and it just looked soo fun. Fnesloerqvbedcjef ughh whys life, whys. I'll DEFINATLY be going to FC 2014 tho! Sooo excited to see my mate, to have some fun, and to enjoy a 3 day stay at the con itself! <3 Further Confusion 2014, you better watch out for me.
