I wrote a research paper back in 2017, during my final year of my BA in Graphic Design. The topic was “The Significance of Visual Communication on the Consumption of Music in the Digital Age” and I’ve since been applying everything I’ve learned to my journey as ByLwansta, as a music artist in the digital age.

So….German music and arts festival, Pop-Kultur have kindly asked me to present my research in the form of a workshop at this year’s festival, which is going digital, to 26 registered participants of their Nachwuchs program.

I can’t wait to bring it home.🇿🇦

I chose a topic I could take with me outside of college once I graduated, one that could add value to my artistry, music. As a precursor to this thesis, I started collecting hardcopies of some of my favourite albums that happened to be packaged wonderfully. I liked having a visual aid next to me, the album’s booklet open while I streamed the album, just to enhance my experience with that particular album, my ears and eyes were catered for and satisfied by the multi-sensory experience.

And I really love cover art, functional things man.
