Today is an extremely emotional day. We are saying so long to our beloved Pastor as she goes on to be the General Minister and President of the Disciples of Christ, which is a happy and sad occasion. Along with that we are blessing our back packs for our back to school fair and praying for no rain for Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon. There are big things happening today and many changes ahead, and you have to keep moving forward. #FCCDGProud (at First Christian Church of Downers Grove, IL)

Tonight is a big night for me, my church, my pastor, and my church denomination. My home church pastor, Pastor Teresa (Terri) Hord Owens, is being installed as the first African American female to the position of General Minister and President of the Disciples of Christ, getting and overwhelming yes vote. This will make her the first woman of color to lead a main line denomination.
