My problems with TikTok
Being part of the generation Z, I am going to tell you what my issues with tiktok are.
1. There are so many people on they who are hot. It makes it seem like every teenage boy is hot. They aren’t.
2. And if they are, it makes it seem like they would take interest in you, and that if someone does take interest in me, I am a horrible person because I turned them down and broke their hearts. When, in reality, I have never had a boyfriend because no body has ever asked me out, and I would welcome anyone who wanted to love me with loving, open, arms.
3. All the people who get big on Tiktok seem like the kind of people who bully people in high school. Or the people who are the popular jocks. None of them seem like they would spend time scrolling and making posts on Tumblr like this.
4. I’ve seen a lot of people on Tiktok who think they’re really hot. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t. But they make posts that are about being hot even though they don’t directly say it. But then the caption would read something like, “ POV: The neighborhoods fuckboy makes eye contact with you.” and like honey, you don’t have what it takes to be a fuckboy. Also, I carry too much emotional baggage for you anyways.
5. It gives you hope. There are so many people on tiktok who have like millions of followers, then you start making them in hopes to get tiktok famous and you don’t.
6. It’s addictive. It is pointless and uses up hours of my time. Why am I so addicted? I have no idea and the world just might never know.
I am aware that I don’t know any of the people on tiktok and have created a stereotype for the people on it, and that I need to abolish it.
