Sayen was someone who could find small joys in just about everything. The silver lining was not far off for her, but there were very few things that - when gone awry - that lining vanished all together. Mistakes, missteps, and misfortunes - the categories of her downfall, and this particular one just so happened to fall under the last of the three.
Misfortunes.
“The cotton candy machine,” she said before letting go of that breath she had been holding. It was such a silly thing to find fault, to let ruin the moment, but she’d be a fucking liar if she said she wasn’t a complete ho for fresh cotton candy.
“It’s broken and I don’t know how to fix it.” Granted, this was more the final straw that the start of a tumble. The buildup of stress had people doing far worse than becoming emotional over sugar fluff.
