Rare Navarres from 100% official, Nintendo-licensed books... and merch!
Part 5 of 5 - Merch and Misc.
So, that bottom one. That is the Holy Grail of Navarre merch.
The text is from the official FE3 guidebook. It says there is an entry to a sweepstakes to win a Fire Emblem themed telephone card in the back of the book. It was held in July 1994, and there were 20 winners... in other words, only 20 of these cards existed.
And that little image? That's the only place the artwork was printed. EVER. It's in none of the artbooks. It was never used in ads. There were no scans online.
Until I got my hands on one last year~ >:3c
ROUND 2: Who will win, Heroes art or Cipher art?
Which man is more fuckable?

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (Chapter 6-10)
So continues the journey through wherever we are to defeat the bad guys! The maps remind me of SoV in that they all blend together, outside of the placement of the armory and occasional recruit, in Shadow Dragon's case. Through happenstance I haven't lost anyone I've technically recruited.
Chapter 6:
• Went to the trouble of recruiting Rickard and bringing along Julian, and combined they opened 1 chest. The enemy thieves did the rest and were promptly defeated for the loot. That said, Rickard is cute.
• The Warp Staff, also known as "Send Marth to the armory Staff" helped Wolf get in front of the thieves on the far end so they couldn't escape with my loot (I learned afterwards anyone can visit the armory... sorry warp staff)
• I like how the original Fire Emblem is like a lock pick lmao
• It seems like they want me to use Marth for literally anything but combat... what with all the villagers and other nonsense he has to do with the Fire Lockpick
• MVP was def my bois Merric and Wendell. So continues the trend of loving magic users
Chapter 7:
• Um, why are we the Archanean League... Could we not have a cooler name? So many nationalities start with A, but I think Archanea is the entire continent, but Marth is the prince of Atlea, yeah?
• Hey, it's the pegasus trio from Gaiden! I was very afraid of Est's weapon and that it would spell the end of one of my many horse units, but Merric nuked Minerva and they retreated
• Reinforcements were very scary, but no one was lost and we got some good levels. Incredibly annoying that every commander is an armor and can only really be taken down safely with magic, and then Caeda or one of the effective weapons for the killing blow.
• Ridersbane is the bane of my existence. I eventually end up with one for Draug so he can kill enemy cavaliers, but they aren't nearly as scared of me as I am scared of them.
Chapter 8:
• I started this chapter several days later, and in that period I decided to look up some of the various characters to see if they were in Heroes for fun. APPARENTLY MY BOI OGMA WAS A FORMER SLAVE GLADIATOR?? Also Barst is a cutie and Navarre is the OG Lon'qu type; no surprises there.
• I killed Roger and I'm not sorry. There's only enough room in my heart for one Armored Knight and his name is Draug
• New chapter recruits were great for going shopping. I am now broke (this problem is solved in the subsequent chapter. Resource management? I think not)
• Lots of good levels! Sedgar finally made it to level 2 and is starting to improve
• I never bother with effective weapons in other Fire Emblem games, but they're invaluable in Shadow Dragons. Ogma destroyed this chapter's irrelevant boss with the armorslayer sword
Chapter 9:
• It's Jeorge, and at long last someone who can use a silver weapon since I shunned Jagen. Ah, it's because he's a prepromote. This is fine I guess; Gordin needed a fellow bow-user to help keep the bench warm.
• Julian got to be useful on this map too, yippee. (He goes back to opening exactly 1 chest in the next chapter)
Honestly Mannu's dragon form doesn't look That Bad, relative to everything else. He was easy to chip down with javelins and bows while he couldn't counter.
Chapter 10:
• Ok ok, now we got a rescue operation. Going into this chapter, I feel like it might take multiple attempts, but we shall see.
• First attempt I lost Wolf and decided to retry because damn the maps are so hard to interpret! I realized I need to go around the entire fortress thing to get to Maria smh
• On the third attempt (2nd attempt I lost Segurd, which was fine, but then Minerva blocked the door, which prevented me from saving Maria and killed Barst. Segurd, I don't care about, but not Barst.) I successfully recruited Minerva with no casualties (except Minerva almost immediately died by an enemy archer)
The amount of enemy reinforcements was terrifying, and there were several close calls, but my Christmas Cavaliers got great levels and Ogma took down the boss by himself.
Miscellaneous
I have been informed that the game titled "Fire Emblem" is not FE 1 but actually 7, so it was purchased. Due to a mishap with a friend from a different country, I'm now net some eshop money, which makes me a bit sad I have already bought all these games out-of-pocket. The search to find something to buy begins.
