I like how I've somehow managed to avoid "microfandom obscure blorbo" for like. 21 fucking years and now I've gotten into Shadow Dragon and my favorite is FREY. Do you understand. Fucking. Mr. Canonical Sacrifice. He's ONLY available if you do the prologue which means he doesn't even exist in hard mode AND if I'd used him as the decoy (like Mystery says he was) he'd be gone in this file FOREVER BEFORE CHAPTER ONE EVEN I just aodnosnskw he's my fucking guy okay, look him. I love him.

I need to start designing FEH alts again. I miss coming up with outfits that fit a theme and using color I normally wouldn't touch. I guess I could finish Frey and Kristabel here's line, but then who would I use? Maybe Gangrel and my Awakening OC (I've been trying to redesign her for years).

I miss customizable player characters, because like... there's no reason for me to design an alt for someone like Byleth. Byleth has alts (too many). But my slightly older palette swap with bigger titties and a cooler hairstyle named Myleth doesn't, and THAT'S what inspires me to draw!

Unlike most OC/Canon art I draw, Kris and Frey are very much not a couple. She has a crush on him, and he has this weird Schrödinger's Respect for her where he respects and admires her BECAUSE he assumes that she, like him, thinks romance is a stupid waste of time and that people in relationships shouldn't be allowed to call themselves knights. If/when he finds out about her little crush, all that reapect flies out the window and she just becomes a waste of talent in his eyes. I started writing a fanfic about the two of them that goes from "romantic comedy" to "tragic dramapiece exploring how the monarch-focused narratives of Fire Emblem games encourage characters to develop martyr complexes and how absolutely fucked up those people would be if every support didn't have to end on a happy note". I've written stories where Jeritza fucks a corpse and Jakob makes out with a decomposing head, and writing Frey as a realistically bitter, angry, disabled man is still the most uncomfortable thing I've done so far.

I started this three years ago, back when I played Fire Emblem Heroes. I was thinking I'd finish it before they added Frey to the game.

Keeping that deadline in mind, I'm pretty sure I've got until the heat death of the universe to paint this.
