writer’s blurp: i love this little guy so much just let me give him a ton of kisses all over his face. just a lot of little smooches that leave him in a fit of laughter.

when you stumbled upon his hiding spot Alcryst couldn't stop himself from screaming. he was very rightly startled, and you seemed confused at his startled scream.
reaching out for him Alcryst did his best to curl up into himself, but nothing happened other than a quick tap against his arm and hearing you say.
"tag you're it."
and with that, you darted away from him, with a smile on your face, arms stretched out as if you could somehow fly away into the sky. all while alcryst watched the distance between the two of you grow.

Alcryst hadn't expected to see you ever again, from the confusing kid who startled him, looked at him, made him it in a game that he wasn't even a part of then ran away from him with no one else around to tag.
to see you standing amongst those who newly joined the ranks of Brodia's army did something to his heart. you standing there, in the army's coat of arms, a smile on your face, shoulder to shoulder with the soldiers painting a wonderful picture of merriment that made his face feel warm.
"do you see someone you know?" his father's voice pulls Alcryst out of his thoughts, he can feel how his face flushed at the question.
"n-no!! the soldiers, all seem so happy together it's.... good to see."

it wasn't until the third time Alcryst happened to see you he learned your name-- from none other than yourself. all smiles once more, and the warmth that he could feel from that smile made his heart do little flips in his chest and his stomach felt like it was full of butterflies.
he had a name to put with the one he had met so long ago. you're like a fire sprite, alive, dancing, and always on the move. even if you should be still after the most recent skirmish.
"if you wouldn't mind... would you mind spending time with me once you've returned?"
a leap, a chance to see if you would allow him to be in your life and share your time with him. with that ever-warm smile of yours you said yes, and the joy that bloomed in his heart-- it knows no bounds.

years had passed, and the seasons have changed. the two of you have grown up a bit more, but not everything has changed. you still remained warm, and smiling at Alcryst, when he continued to keep looking for you after every return from the front.
Alcryst knows that much about himself hasn't changed, yet you say that he has changed as well despite his protests that he hasn't. you just so happen to be stubborn like that.
so, one evening, when you just so happened to be a bit more stubborn than most other days, Alcryst reached out hand touching your shoulder so fast before he smiled, turning away with the same words on his lips that you said to him so long ago.
"tag you're it!"
despite being several years late, it didn't matter, not with how the two of you laughed. chasing the other in a game that truly had no end for either of you.
