FE:A Drabble - Lissa/Frederick

Part of an old series of drabbles I did for fun, using my first playthrough’s pairings for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Pairing: Lissa/Frederick

"Milady, why--"

"Frederick!"

The great knight cleared his throat, properly chastised. "...Lissa. Why were you sneaking around the palace?"

Hands on her hips, Lissa whispered, "I had to find a secret place! That way, no one would see."

He shifted, suddenly very uncomfortable with their solitude in the garden. Whatever she might be planning could hardly be good if she hadn't wanted to be caught.

"If you're plotting another juvenile prank..."

She pouted cutely. "No! Ugh! Just, come here, would you?"

The soft kiss caught him by surprise. Although Lissa giggled, she was blushing, too.

He gladly returned the favor.

FE:A Drabbles - Sumia/Gaius

Pairing: Sumia/Gaius

"Hey, Feathers." The pegasus huffed irritably at Gaius. "Aw, don't be like that. I come bearing gifts."

After snuffling at the sugar cubes, she finally allowed him closer.

"Gotta keep you happy, Feathers," he said, brushing her mane. "Otherwise, you won't be of much use to Stumbles.

"My business is on the ground. But she's always soaring through the air, like a bird." He smirked. "Nothing to stumble on up there."

His hands stilled.

"Just... take care of her, would ya?"

The pegasus eyed him, then huffed. He took that as confirmation.

Then he realized Sumia was right behind him.

FE:A Drabbles - Donnel/Miriel

Part of an old series of drabbles I wrote for fun, using my first playthrough’s pairings for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Pairing: Donnel/Miriel

Miriel, so absorbed in her tome, was wholly unprepared for the rush of being twirled around. The fact that it was Donnel didn't make it entirely unwelcome.

"Phewie! That was a close one!"

As the adrenaline faded, she was dismayed that her train of thought had been lost. She went to inform him of this fact when he winced.

"Ya almost walked into the fire! Maybe you can, erm, sit down and read?"

"...ah. My gratitude."

His relief and bright smile warmed her more than a fire spell, and this proved a more interesting subject to study, in the end.

FE:A Drabbles - Panne/Kellam

Part of an old series of drabbles I wrote for fun, using my first playthrough’s pairings for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Pairing: Panne/Kellam

Knowing Panne as he did, Kellam had never really pegged her as a cuddler. Yet here he was, trapped in bed because she refused to let him up.

Honestly, he wasn't too inclined to leave, either. Her warm presence always reminded him that he hadn't been forgotten, and having her strong, feminine arms wrapped around his middle reinforced the notion even in his sleep. She had said she would always find him, and he believed her.

Her vulnerable morning mumbles reminded him that she was just as afraid of losing him as he was of being lost. So he stayed.

Part of an old series of drabbles I wrote for fun, using my first playthrough’s pairings for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Pairing: Vaike/Nowi

"Oh, husband... Wake up! Rise and shine!"

Groaning, Vaike nevertheless followed his wife to greet the day before the sun. Nowi was full of spunk; training was never boring with her around, whether she was cheering him on or playing "dodge the manakete." Meals were also entertaining, as she loved to listen, share, and reenact stories. She had only burned down the mess tent once.

When night returned, he found it funny that their roles were reversed: He was tucking her in, knowing she'd just drag him out of bed tomorrow.

But he loved it all, because he loved her.

Part of an old series of drabbles I wrote for fun, using my first playthrough’s pairings for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Pairing: Lon’qu/Cordelia

When Lon'qu stiffened at her heavy sigh in Chrom's direction, Cordelia realized her error.

"W-wait--" Reaching for his arm, she barely stopped. He wasn't ready yet. "It's not... what you think. I..." She sighed again. "I was a fool."

He furrowed his brows.

She continued, "But no longer. I was just... sighing at my past actions. I m-mean... really?" Unable to help herself, she sighed again, rubbing at her temples. "Pining away for years?"

To her surprise, his fingers stopped the motion. And though they trembled, the attempt made her smile blossom. Maybe he was more ready than she thought.

FE:A Drabbles - Maribelle/Ricken

Part of an old series of drabbles I wrote for fun, using my first playthrough’s pairings for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Pairing: Maribelle/Ricken

"Maribelle, stop! You're gorgeous!"

"While I appreciate the words, dear," the troubadour murmured, gripping her parasol, "I'm not so certain. My curls are drooping, and I feel as if I've chipped a nail..."

Warm hands clasped hers as Ricken swore, "No, honest! You look perfect!" A blush stained his cheeks. "W-well, you always look perfect, but you--look even more perfect than ever! If, um... if that makes any sense?"

Seeing his own nervousness, Maribelle sucked hers up and tried to feel brave for him. "Well, if you're sure I'm presentable... then I suppose it's time to meet my future in-laws."
