          “---Well, could you not?” 

Movement from the solider on the ground earned him a swift kick to the head, rendering him unconscious as the redhead made her way over to the other. Safe to say his little ‘stunt’ was irksome at best. She understood where he was coming from, to an extent, but seriously? Didn’t he get that she was expendable? Just how many times would she have to explain that to him? His life was more important than hers. He brought hope, something people desperately needed right now. But her? No, the rebels needed him. 

Sighing, she looked him over, checking the extent of the damage wasn’t too much. Luckily, it looked like nothing more than a graze.

                              “---Can you stop being so reckless, please?”

                    “---No? How ‘bout self-righteous? Smug?” He paused, smile growing as he raised a brow, trying to get more of a reaction out of the other. “---Traitor?” Oh, yeah, he heard the stories, don’t think he hadn’t. And this, this is what Ethan did when he felt cornered; he instigated. “---You’re the one they call the Prophet, right?”

She’d been concerned. Really, it was a wonder the blonde had managed to keep herself together so well. No one really knew what exactly had happened, only that he was out like a light and they couldn’t figure out why. Sure, he’d had quite a few unexplained cuts here and there, but nothing that should have caused such a reaction. Ella suspected exhaustion and perhaps dehydration had played a part; hence the i.v. If they were being honest though, it was only an educated guess. Still, despite that having been her main concern, all wounds were covered in a green paste and wrapped in bandages; making sure to keep them from getting infected. 

The corners of her mouth lifted the slightest bit as he spoke. She was more than pleased he was awake and even more so that he could joke around. 

               “---One of the scouts?” Was that the right word? “They came back and found you on the ground...” More so, they panicked and somehow, she had been put in charge of watching over him. “---How are you feeling?”

He had a point. Her ‘scratch’, was far too nasty to just let sit. It needed to be cared for, at least once, but her stubborn nature along with her insistent need to stay out of everyone’s way, to help and not be another burden, caused the words to escape her before she even really had the chance to consider them. Relying on others, trusting them? It wasn’t without its difficulty and honestly, more than anything she never wanted to be the reason a child didn’t get the proper care they needed, you know? Supplies were limited, after all. But then, it was one child in particular that caused any more protests to cease before they could even start. David watched her every move. He was impressionable and as much as she hated to say it, there wasn’t a doubt in her mind that if she refused treatment now, he’d try to follow suit one day and well, she couldn’t have that, now could she? 

                    “---I’ll take care of it before I leave.” Nevermind the fact that she’d only gotten back a day prior or even that the number of times she’d come and go in the last week was clearly wearing her thin. It’s not as though they could really expect any less. What would they have her do? Most were still too scared to make the runs she did and they needed the supplies.
