Team Updates: Think Big, Act Small
Last night the Think Big, Act Small team reunited to talk about all things technology and education! Though they've been in touch since, it was the first time they met up after the conference. Those who couldn't make it to the physical hangout "hungout" via Google and Facetime.
Much of the night was spent thinking back on the experience and conversations had at DreamYard Prepatory School with the big question of the night being...
Why can't students access the same inspiration that Feasters find at the conference?
Some team members said it was that inspiration that originally made them hesitant to leave the conference and jump on a bus. The experience ended up being better than they could have imagined, and the students they worked with felt the same.
"The greater service was the conversations," said Rudy Blanco, the Digital Director of DreamYard Prepatory School.
He talked about how excited his students were and still are by the visit. He said what they remembered more than working to bring computers up to date and helping to improve their school's technology was the personal experience of meeting new, diverse, interesting adults actually doing things with impact.
Moving forward the Think Big, Act Small team wants to focus their energy, passion, insight, and skill within seemingly small individual and group actions. They’ll continue to stay in touch and brainstorm how best to do this.
They'll also be coming together again and sharing even more updates with The Feast community on Monday, Nov. 25. at our Give Thanks! event.
Make sure you're there to hear about it, and tell us what you've been up to since the conference!
