Coco: Hey, how are you doing? It's Coco 🙂 Coco: I was cleaning out my contacts and stumbled upon you. Coco: This is Minghao, right? Coco: If not, this is embarrassing.

It had been quite a long time since Coco had seen Minghao in person. The two of them had history and when they had seen each other last, it hadn't been on the most happiest of terms. They had been seeing each other for a little while, having met through mutual friends -- but life and work had managed to get in the way. Despite it being well over a year ago, she had never managed to forget it. So when she had reached out to him after so long, she was relieved to hear that he wanted to see her again. Inviting him to LA was a no brainer, and given that he was attending the same premiere she was, it was the perfect opportunity to offer him a more permanent place to stay during his time in California. That was how she ended up in the kitchen, fixing breakfast for the both of them. Despite the two of them very clearly having some unsettled tension, she had offered him the guest room. One thing she didn't want to do was rush. Last time, it was a 'right person, wrong time' kind of situation, and she didn't want to step into something like that again. Not until she knew things could be different. The sound of footsteps approaching the kitchen caught her attention, turning around with her mug of coffee in hand to offer Minghao a warm smile.
