Simple Ways to Avoid Allergens at Home
If you are suffering from allergy, chances are its triggering factors are just staying in your home or its surroundings. You should identify them to be able to avoid their presence which is the real culprit of your condition. Remember, prevention is the first and most effective step to avoid consequences. Doing simple things can do a lot to keep you allergy-free while you are at home. This can help you to spend quality time with your family and be able to accomplish your home chores.
Regular Vacuuming
Vacuuming on a regular basis eliminates dust where dust mites love to stay. Wear a mask when doing this because dust can trigger allergic reactions. If someone else is doing the job, consider leaving your house for at least an hour to make sure dust is no longer present in the air when you get back home.
Reducing Pet Dander
Furred or feather animals such as cats, dogs and birds are a good source of allergens. Pet dander or dead skin and saliva of animals can trigger allergic reactions. If you are too attached to your pets that you can’t live without them, by all means, you must not let them enter your bedroom.
Shutting Out Pollen
Pollens are another allergen you should prevent from getting into your house. Keep your doors and windows closed when trees and flowers near your home are in bloom. Always make sure the air filters of your air conditioners are clean before using them.
Mold Elimination
Mold produce spores that can cause allergies to some people. You can prevent the growth of molds by reducing moisture inside your home. Keep your kitchen and bathroom clean and dry after each use to prevent mold growth. Check your piping system regularly and fix leaks to avoid moisture.
Your home is the best place to be. Don’t let allergy spoil your stay by keeping allergens away.
