🌐 —  John is just returning from his workout, sweaty and eager for a cold shower. Only to run into Doc on the way, hunched over whatever he was attempting to.

"For fuck's sake Doc!" He should just walk past, minding his own business and get a shower. But he knows he won't get to wash himself in peace if he does that and groans in annoyance. "Just a bunch of absolute morons, the whole lot of you!"

So he goes to embrace Doc like an angry bear, just until that back cracks right. It was certainly more of a wrestling move than a hug: brief, tight and painful. And just as fast, he backs off again with a huff.

🌐 — John is still recovering from a ship crash several days back. He barely left the bed he was dropped in since, which alone is already uncharacteristic for him. But, after waking up in a foreign place within an unknown colony and hearing that Earth is most likely lost, that everything his wife, Isaac and he himself did was just for nothing after all, where is even the point in trying anymore?

Sensing that the other still looms about, John turns on his back. Just lying around gets tiring too, and he hates being this unkempt and useless. But he just can't seem to find the energy to do anything about it.

"Fuck... if it bothers you so much, then why didn't you just let me out there inside that damn wreck to die?"

“We have a problem,” 🧪Doc admits to Carver. Whatever it is, it can’t be good! Not when the not-so-mad scientist is so out of breath, and especially not with all that ruckus behind the door he was pressed up against. 🌐 — John had settled down to drink his second coffee of the day, while being fully aware that Isaac and Doc are both already very busy working on things somewhere at the estate. Normally he doesn't care much about what the others do and just goes on with his day, unless they show up to show him their latest creation like a proud parent.

Or when their latest creation actually backfires spectacularly.

When a blade skewers through the door, John's dark, brown eyes narrow and he places the cup of coffee back down on the table. He could ask why Doc went to turn a toaster into a weapon in the first place, but he doesn't even want to know at this point. All he wanted was to finish his coffee and go out for a hike through the woods to clear his mind.

His voice is dripping with sarcasm as he finally says something. He just got too used to occurences like this by now. "Have you tried pulling its plug?"

🌐 — John is standing outside the tall congress building, right in front of the entrance. Anyone having business inside has to get past him first, DNA scan and extensive background check included. Military personnel is all over the area.

His Bullpup rifle, loaded and ready, leans right next to him against the wall while he fiddles with a cigar and lighter. It's unusually cold this morning and his fingers feel numb. But maybe it's also because he didn't get much rest the past few days that he's struggling to even get as much as a cigar lit right now. It's always exhausting when self-important politicians decide to parade around while requiring a whole damn task force to guard their asses.

Today is the last day of their meeting he was told, but he calls bullshit on that. The last he heard is that these fuckers still didn't get to any conclusions whatsoever about the pending resource trades between Earth and Mars.

As someone approaches him, he lowers lighter and cig with a low and annoyed grumble. So much for getting at least a damn smoke while just standing around like a frozen idol.
