My first attempt was drawing celestia in the cute pink robe-like ensemble she was wearing for the gala that discords jealousy crashed, but I decided to use that pic for day 13, fav princess. Couldn’t remember any good dresses, so I looked through some outfits on the wiki, looking for either hearths warming tale or power ponies outfits. Rarity had the most outfits (surprise surprise) and I picked a cute red & pink frilly dress as my favourite, and then an honorable mention to stress couture.
I redid the raritys mouth on the left so many times, that when I erased the pencil lines it took off most of the inking too. the ref had those bits of the hair filled in, and its produced a cool effect. I’m going to try and make more interest with the blocks of black in the next pic.
So normally these humanise pones challenges go mane 6, and I was agonizing on who to draw and how to do diversity without falling into stereotypes. I’m super white, and this is something I worry about. I have no experience with this and I want to do it right. This was a bullet dodge, as celestias white, tall and ethereal, was going to use a ref of gwen christie but this pic of liz debicki stood out.
Wings were from a ref of a swan. Aint drawn wings in a long time and certainly never inked them, this came out so good. Some faults, but I wasn’t going to sketch the individual feathers, so more fool me I guess. I love the effect I got with the lineweights on the gown being obscured by the wing. good job me ^_^ the thing you missed was the back bit of the wing as it curves round, if the arm is visible so should those background feathers.
horn(s?) are a shoutout to the cool idea that a devils horns are a broken halo, so an angels halo would be a closed loop of horn. I think a singular central horn on a human skull looks weird, so this bypasses that, and links Celly to angels, this idea of holiness, of being set apart and above. oh wait the wings do that too, derp. uuuuuurgh I sincerely missed that when adding in this symbolism lmao.
the proportions seemed so wack when I was sketching it, 8 heads tall?!? isn’t that too tall??? but it looks good, so what do I know of proportions. dumb brain with the bad measuring.
Had the cosmic hair effect be a fireball (re: the sun) centered in the horns instead of the skull. it could’ve come out better, but I was expecting it to have gone much worse.
I aint never inked a human face before (and I still haven’t lol), not too bad, its not making me squirm too much. Man I wish I knew how to draw faces.
This is the full A4 scan, I’m getting better at using more of the paper. Thinking of finding some watercolours or smth, to add some colour to these. we’ll see in time.
I thought twixie would be interesting, what with the power + no ego & ego + no power. strange how I take the positives rather than the negatives, I’ve never considered a twilightxtrixie fusion that has neither power nor ego.
ran out of space for the hat, I think the stars on the cape is much better done on this one than yesterdays. forehoofs too small, cape too short, horn too long. teef too big/forward? tail could be bigger. I still have the sketch for this so maaaaaaaybe I’ll reupload this better tomorrow? eh.

They’ve got MAGIC. this ought to be impressive, but its mainly used by the general populace for carrying groceries. The most powerful magic users are ancient beings who dictate how long the sun stays up, yet get kidnapped on the regular.
typing this up I realized they’re quite like discworld wizards. Potentially they could be fearsome, but push comes to shove you’ll find most of them finding a solution thats not magic.
