i’m at a weird place with Skeleton Keys. i realized that all the writing im working on has a very weak and generally boring foundation so this draft will likely go straight in the trash right after i finish it. however, this kinda made me feel relived? im more focused on writing to flesh out the concept and explore if they work or not, so im not particularly upset about having to scrap it later. it’ll help me make a stronger story in the long run and after all, im still having loads of fun writing!
goal(s): write three chapters
accomplishment(s): wrote three chapters! unfortunately, they were shorter than i planned for them to be, but that’s for me to add to later! for now, the structure is there. i also started to make another outline to help me figure out how to write the rest of the story so hopefully that’ll help with the more difficult chapters in march.

When I opened my eyes, I thought I could still see my breath puff out in front of me against the dark ceiling. I pawed the air in a slow, near-catatonic manner. My fingers felt like they had been filled with jelly—or maybe time had slowed to a thick pudding around me.
