all anyone ever wants is to be recognized and remembered.

letting such words kind of sit with them for a minute, zora gives a slight nod in response. of course, it's something that has been driving them to keep trying. to keep creating.

they want to leave a little bit of something worth remembering. it's not hard to imagine that many others would want the same.

"makes sense to me. to be genuinely seen, recognized.. and remembered. i guess it has to be nice to know that your life, your efforts really made an impression on someone."

"This isn't healthy."

a slow blink. a couple more slow blinks as they stare at him blankly.

there are moments where zora gets caught up in ... problematic work habits. and it seems like this was one of those moments. especially since they hadn't rested in what felt like days at a time.

they could go without sleep, they could push themselves surely to finish up one thing. or another.

".. yeah, well. haven't you pulled all-nighters before? i'm not sure when this kind of behavior is so surprising to you."

"If not, we'll be unemployed!"

zora glances at him a bit wearily before giving a small sigh.

"i.. i guess i do understand that. the things done to keep a job.. can be truly trying to put it lightly."

that doesn't make them any more comfortable necessarily with what he's been required to do - but, hey it's not them that is going through with it.

"how.. how long have this been a policy you've had to abide by?"
