If I'm entirely honest with you, I didn't even exactly remember who Thrask was when I saw that you made a new blog. It had been about a year (and a half?) since I played DA2 and my brain's a sieve so I didn't think much of it. Until I got to read your interpretation of him, and re-experience his storyline vicariously through your careful and diligent creation of his world, his life, and character. What I appreciate so much about your portrayals is that they're always so clear and precise.
You have a talent for conveying the beauty in simplicity and clarity, and it works both with heroic characters who are at the heart of an epic, and an everyday hero of the people---like Thrask. You take an NPC and you flesh him out to the point where he's so well-developed that he's more your own than canon's. The way you write Thrask, he comes across as realistic, multifaceted, a person with a past, a present, a future. He's just purely human and I love it.

|| I don’t even know how to answer this, it’s just... I can only say that I consider this a real compliment coming from you, because I know how good you are at writing your own muses, I can see how much care goes into their characterisation and I deeply appreciate your attentiveness when it comes to the lore, the language, the culture of your characters. So this kind of praise from you really means something to me.
And then you also meme me with the cheese, I cannot believe it.
Thrask is such an important character in story of DA2. He's an integral part of the attempted coup and a catalysis (one of for what happens after) Despite that he's given little screen time and the depth of his character never fully gets explored. so THANK GOODNESS for you. You took what little bioware gave and ran with it to make this amazing blog. Your writing is like reading a story, you get drawn into this world and it's so fantastic to see everything through this ex-Templar's eyes. (1/2)
I am continually blown away by how detailed your threads are and the varied plots you have. You are a gift to the DARP community and I am so happy we write together. (Also Hawke’s never ending pun war on Thrask is the stuff dreams are made of) (2/2)

|| Weeps about this.Â
Honestly though, he actually has a relevant role and I can’t deny that I am a little unhappy that his storyline in DA2 ends so abruptly when it could have had much more relevance, especially in Inquisition and the conflict that arises between the factions. But that’s a rant for another time.
I am so glad that I get to write with you, our threads are a constant source of feels and Beatrice is an incredible character full of originality and realism. Our stuff is honestly engaging and at this point I have basically included the existence of Bea in my main Inquisition canon.Â
(Also @tomurderandcreate look at what you’ve done with those puns.)
*whispers* YEEEeeeeeEEES, your Thrask is so great. I absolutely love when people take relatively small characters where we can only get glimpses off and then just run with them never looking back. Your writing is wonderful to read, be it on the threads that we have or the ones that I sometimes have the chance to read ( like the one with Beatrice or the one with Lelaros, man what good pieces of 'tear these feels off of me I didn't need them anyway' :') ) Amazing writing and characterization wowie

|| Oh man, that’s kind of my thing, taking the minor characters and doing stuff with them (except for Fëanor I suppose lol). Also you flatter me so much with the fact that you read my stuff with other people (heard that @merdedeporc and @burningarrcws? We have public, apparently!) and I’m really happy that you’re enjoying the threads. Enjoyment is entirely mutual here. Thank you for sending me this, it was lovely.
i have to admit, i don't know much about thrask in canon but man. your thrask is just so multi-faceted and he seems so deep and compassionate. and like wow in our thread he gives me so many feels like he's almost fatherly towards ros and ros has never had that. A+ job as always tbh.

|| That thread gives me so many feels too. I’m glad that I’m doing my job of fathering characters properly, though that’s entirely not what I had planned in the beginning... the thing just happened and now I cry a lot. I actually have some plans for the future, too.
Lelaros is great and so different from your other muses and I’m very happy you’re enjoying My One Nice Muse.Â
I'm honestly so impressed by writers who take on canon characters with such little development -- and then turn them into full fledged, beautifully characterized characters in their own regard. Which you've done, and I love reading your threads so much because??? it takes a lot of dedication to fill in so many gaps! I can't wait to write with you, and just know you're doing an amazing job <3

|| Oh my god, I’m always a little amazed to know that people read my threads, honestly. Though it’s a thing I do myself most of the time, I skim over other people’s roleplays on my dash lol. (E.g. I did read your stuff with Varric back then...)
I’m glad you think that by the way and I’m really looking forward to our thread. Your Hawke is very interesting and, as a side note, you draw beautifully too.
I really love your writing style and your meditations on Thedas in general; you give Thrask a very solid, grounded presence that both matches and expands on how he appears in the game. +1 A+ keep it up. :)

|| And you have no idea how much I’m enjoying Dominic! It’s still kind of rare to see Templar-siding Inquisitors, and your characterisation is honestly engaging. He’s a funny dude, and yet I can already see other traits of his person in our thread, some of his beliefs and his approach to things.
I’m glad you’re enjoying my bearded man, here, anyway.Â
