what is your primary feeling in longing?

Fear

In longing, you feel fear. You're uncertain and wary of what your feelings may betray you to. You don't enjoy the feeling of not being in control of your own self, you ask, "why can't I just stop?" There's a cold feeling in your chest, your hands become clammy, you know you behold this desire too strongly, but the feeling goes nowhere. Rationally you think, "this desire is foolish and I don't need it," but that doesn't work for long. Secretly you yearn for that you seek, trying to hide it even from your own self, fearing that if you even let yourself know what you crave, nothing will be the same. Sometimes it's lonely. Sometimes you wish you could tell someone.... anything. You reference it vaguely in conversations, a joke that only makes sense to you, but is actually the longing veiled in fear. Your desire is forbidden, unattainable, by your own standards or someone else's, but it lurks in the back of your mind, persistent, deafening in the way that silence often is. Fear not my love, take a deep breath. You will find your peace.

[Some of the few times where Circei is genuinely happy are the ones she shares with her matesprit Cylest.  She’s always glad to see her pretty face, and even more giddy to hear whatever compliments are in store for her that day.  Circei feels strange about it, but she genuinely wants to help Cylest be happy again in one way or another- even if her opinions of what is normal or happy are skewed.]

🎎- They find a long lost possession of theirs

[First she would assume someone was playing a prank on her.  She lost everything she had when her old carnival “went under”!  How could this be real?  Then, as she realized that somehow something from her past was actually real, right there in front of her... She would feel a strange mix of anxiety and relief.  Her past isn’t something that haunts her in the slightest, but her full feelings would depend on what the object was.  If it was something given to her by her old Ringmaster then she would be uncomfortable and furious.  if it was something given to her by her old juggler friend, then she would feel a but forlorn and nostalgic.  She would keep it as a reminder in either case.]

[When first impressions are good, Circei gets the feeling that this person could be promising to her.  Possibly of use later on, possibly someone fun to play with.  If she isn’t immediately annoyed or put off by their personality, Circei will happily keep in touch with the person!]

[Xhialo can’t help but smile when he sees Pikoan!  He always gives him a bro hug and a friendly nuzzle before asking how he’s feeling.  Any day he gets to see his bro is a good one!]

[Magnus absolutely HAS to pick her up!  Millie is perfect best friend size, especially for someone who hates being picked up and tossed around without warning.]

[It’s a very unfamiliar feeling of relief when Teruqa sees Risata or Giggle.  He knows he’ll be feeling happy soon enough, but it’s still a foreign emotion to him.  He likes to rest his chin on their shoulders or the top of their heads (Risata’s especially) and just enjoys listening to them talk.]
