I want to take a moment and express how grateful I am for all the people in my life. Especially a group in particular who I can truly say surprised me. September of 2015 I began working at a church in Bellevue, running their Nursery that is available during each Service every Sunday morning. I was very skeptical but my best friend at the time offered it as something to do together since our college lives were beginning and we knew we would not be able to see each other as much. Though working together every Sunday morning put our minds at ease. Before this experience Religion had always been something I had my mind set against. At least that was the case for any and all denominations of Christianity. Though, I can say now that my stubborn mind is now second guessing my past negativity. Within the last Nine months people who I never expected to be there for me, were there in my darkest hours. When someone who I thought was always going to be there for me, who I needed more than anyone, was not there. I can remember a day where I skipped my second and last class of the day because my mind was so blurry and negative and stuck so deeply in darkness I could barely function. I got in my car and I knew I didn't want to go home not for any bad reason, I just didn't. So from the college campus I drove to the church, sat in the empty parking lot and cried for over an hour. My best friend turned her back on me and left me alone. A part of me will always hate her for it, but another part of me is grateful. Because it was in that moment I knew her true colors and saw who the real good people were. Religion had nothing to do with it, but sitting in that parking lot of a small Lutheran Church I felt safe. And that is something I never thought I would feel. I won't name names, but those who were there for me, who have invited me into your homes, and named me a friend, I'll never forget it and I will be eternally grateful, always and forever. There are good people around us, all we have to do it keep an open mind and the most unlikely people will surprise us. #livelovelife #positivethinking #feelingblessedandgrateful
