that’s the phrase, right? ‘fits like a glove’ for when something fits exactly, perfectly - like a glove.

i have small hands. always have. (every part of me is small) growing up, i could bend half an inch or more of my gloves over the tips of my fingers my pant legs would always have holes worn in them from dragging on the ground the heel of my socks settled closer to my Achilles tendon my belly would poke out from under my shirt whenever i raised my arms dresses too loose in the front and too tight in the middle jackets with shoulders too wide and sleeves too long clothes never seemed to fit me right.

names never seemed to fit me right. my name was so haphazardly placed upon me that nobody knows why it’s mine and i’ll answer to anything close enough words never seemed to fit me right. i’m wearing holes in ‘girl’ and ‘boy’ from where they drag on the ground bunch up and fold wrong i could bend half an inch or more of ‘girl’ and ‘boy’ over the tips of my fingers too loose and too tight shoulders too wide and sleeves too long

my skin never seemed to fit me right awkward and stiff movements clumsy fingers, clumsy feet, clumsy tongue tripping over myself, my thoughts, my words crawling and twitching some days it feels like i could bend half an inch or more of my fingers over the tips of my fingers i have stuttering hands always have. (every part of me is stuttering)
