Ging’s S/o Asks for Cuddles after Work:

Let me paint the picture: Friday evening, you finally arrive home after a long day of work

It wasn’t necessarily a bad day, but it was definitely very busy and demanding energy-wise, which is probably why you’re feeling so drained right now

Ging’s already home on the couch and he’s changed into pyjamas already, so he’s probably been home for a while now

He sees you walk in and he can just see the tired in your face

No words need to be exchanged, he just opens his arms while he’s sitting down and you sit down beside him into his big embrace

He’s not going to say anything until you do first because he doesn’t know if you want to talk about it or just need some affection at the moment

I think he’ll gently rub your back a little bit, maybe even put on some music on low volume in the background

All to allow your mind to wind down after the long day and just focus on anything else than the work you’ve been doing all day

If you do decide to talk I think he’ll ask you what you want to eat tomorrow, maybe plan a little date on Sunday, eat brunch at this new cafe that just opened up

Really anything that will cheer you up, he’ll bring it up

The perfect thing after a long day let me tell you that much

Tired

That’s all you’ve been feeling lately. Maybe it’s the gloomy weather that’s been going on for the past week, or the late night hours at work, or the neighbor’s new untrained dog barking throughout the night, but one thing for sure was that you’ve become unbelievably tired.

And Ging was able to easily tell, he was always able to read you like that. He still remembers the day he first talked to you, one word out of your mouth and he’d already understood your entire personality. If he was anyone else this concept would’ve been a bit creepy, but this only helped strengthen your relationship. 

Treading into the doorway with your bags practically dragging on the floor, you muster up all your strength just to lift your head up and meet Ging’s eyes as he welcomes you home. 

“I’ve prepared something for you,” he excitedly says. You couldn't help but smile. Just something about Ging’s presence made you feel so at home and so much more relaxed compared to the busy hours during the day apart from him. 

He helps you set your things down and leads the way into the kitchen.

“Okay, close your eyes,” he instructs you.

You give him a look with a raised eyebrow but obey anyways, “you’re acting very suspicious, you know that?”

He chuckles, “trust me, you’ll love it. Okay sit down,” he says as he pulls out a chair to the kitchen table and helps you sit down. 

“Open them.”

You flutter your eyes open to be met with a small cake. Circular, smooth icing in your favorite color, it was all very professionally decorated, you can tell. 

“Am I forgetting something?” You slightly begin to panic. Anniversary? No that’s still several months away. Birthday? But both our birthdays have already passed.

“It’s an anniversary cake. Your favorite flavor as well,” he smiles at you. 

“It’s not,” you mentally confirm to yourself once again,” it’s not our anniversary today?”

“Nope,” he shakes his head, smile never leaving his face, ”it’s an anniversary for me, of you. It’s the day I first saw you.”

“Saw me?” You snicker, you’d heard of anniversaries like first date, first kiss, engagement date, but never of first sight.

“It’s the day I realized I had to get to know you.”

A gentle reminder of his love. Ging was never short of showing affection in all sorts of ways, it’s moments like these that bring you back to Earth and remind you that he’ll always have your back.

Ging is the person who walks in and is instantly welcomed by EVERYONE in the room. He tends to keep his composure during parties, might sometimes come off as the “mom” friend but his charming and laid back personality make up for it. In other words, he’s the mature adult but never goes too far to being a buzzkill.
