Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Taken on 25/07/2020. Feletto is a town about 30km north of Turin. From the outset, it seems like an ordinary Italian town characterised by its numerous charming churches and small but lively piazzas. But right in the town centre, in Piazza Martiri Felettesi to be precise, is a massive square-plan brick tower boasting a clock and sundial. It's aptly called 'il Torrione' ('the big tower'). The date of the tower's construction is unknown, but it is believed to have existed in 1455 when Feletto was a fortified village under the rule of 'l'Abbazia di Fruttuaria di San Benigno', an an important abbey around 10km from Feletto that's famous for its marvellous mosaics. The 'Torrione' suffered quite a few setbacks and periods of decline over the years, but it still stands and provides a brilliant medieval backdrop to the town's lively piazza.
