Hand  clenches  around  her  waist  as  soon  as  the  fight  ends,  web  shooter  aimed  at  the  nearest  building  as  they  jump  over  the  gathered  crowd.  The  cops  swarm  around  the  Vulture,  handcuffing  his  unconscious  body,  already  proclaiming  another  victory  for  Spider-Man  and  the  Black  Cat.  Funny,  Spider-Man  feels  anything  but  victorious  right  now.  The  city  zooms  by  as  he  heads  to  Chealsea,  stiff  wind  biting  into  an  open  wound  on  his  arm,  but  he  barely  pays  attention  to  it.  Stopping  on  a  rooftop  near  his  apartment,  he  looks  down  at  her,  displeasure  clear  even  beneath  the  mask.

gloved hands cup what is, by now, lukewarm coffee and for half a moment he considers going back inside to the glitzy little cafe to get a refill. it’s starting to chill now that the sun is down, golden hour fading fast and leaving him anxious to head home for the evening. he’s pretty sure dinner tonight is nearly done in the slow cooker. the plant needs to be watered. and isn’t it odd to think of him as having somewhere just a little more stable these days?

nostalgia, however, keeps him on that patio. waiting to see if a text will be answered. and while a part of him is ready to go home, another part hopes she shows. there’s a good haul to be made and if there was anyone to get it, well, it’d be her.

another sip of his coffee and he catches easy movement out of the corner of his eye. an elegant gait and sashay of a hip he knows and knows well. setting his mug down, he stands head tilting a bit and wondering how some people were so blessed to never age. felicia was certainly one of them. “was surprised that old number went through. woulda thought you’d moved on by now.”

Clint scratches the five o’clock stubble threatening to spring up aaaaaany minute now. He’s pretty sure that this situation looks way worse than it is, and boy howdy if he hasn’t been there, done that.

Still, it’s hard to just ignore the slew of break ins of late - all medical equipment, interestingly enough. Not the Black Cat’s MO, but the latest is a bit of a touchy target and there aren’t too many master thieves running around right now.

“Yeeeah, high end jewels, expensive yachts, ancient whatevers that probably should skip the museum and go back to where ever? I’d believe that. Medical supplies? From a kid’s hospital? How about we skip the you denying it, assume that’s a given, and you help me track ‘em down instead.
