It’s been a while since I made any crossover art for Seeds of the Red Lotus and Empty and Become Wind, huh? Well, this time y’all get a screenshot edit

So do we all remember that one scene from season 4 of She-Ra?

I had a galaxy brain moment and produced this, which is what I imagine were the background events of that one scene in chapter 14 of EaBW when Korra was almost kidnapped by Tarrlok’s task force and Asami got injured saving her:

For the record, Suiren can’t actually talk to seagulls, but I kept the joke in because it sends me into giggles every time

Oh also, Suiren is standing on a crate in this picture because her three younger sisters are all taller than her and don’t take her seriously

I suppose in more conscious parts of atla fandom, you're well known for meta and good politics, and of course your fics are a league of their own. One of the cool people who aren't easy to impress and are a bit intimidating

This is extremely flattering and sweet, but my blog only has 400 followers – which is more than small, but certainly not what we’d consider a ‘big name fan’ or the like, I’m not that well known really. I honestly feel like I could also talk about politics in ATLA more really – some of my posts are that type of serious world-building meta but also sometimes I’m just gushing about a particular hypothetical character dynamic that I think would be cool (I wrote a giant post once about how Zuko and Suki do backflips off the top of the palace roof to impress their friends, or like, any of the ‘Sokka runs a tabletop game’ posts) and my most popular text post is about how it’d be funny if instead of being a widow, Iroh were just very divorced, with an ex-wife who just simply hates his guts. Like I don’t mean to play myself down here but while I do get super invested in details and politics and look at things deeply I also do try not to take myself too seriously at the same time (hence my URL).

I really appreciate the kind words about my writing, although again, I’m not really a big author by ATLA fandom standards? (I’d need to write about Zuko more for that). There’s a myriad of reasons for that – I think recently I read a post about how kudos represents marketability more so than quality and it really clicked into my head how like, my writing is a little bit left-field or niche, I suppose.

I also really can’t pass judgement on how intimidating I am since I don’t really see myself from an outside point of view, but I think it helps to know that I’m essentially a giant dork who knows enough about star wars that you should at least be a little judgemental about them.

Just did Entrapdak, so here’s Light Hope/Mara!

1. My take on their canon relationship:

I enjoy it! It’s one of those things that Crew-Ra did that I didn’t expect. I was really more expecting Mara and a younger Razz to be a thing, but they went in an interesting other direction I appreciate. I do think it’s a deeply sad relationship and really serves to emphasize She-Ra’s theme of destiny vs. choice. Must have been awful for Mara to have Light Hope turn against her due to reasons she couldn’t really control. Likewise, it must have been terrible for Light Hope to sort of “wake up” and realize what had happened and what her part had been. And since Mara is dead, there can never been any reconciliation or positive resolution. 

2. Do I ship them:

Yup. I’ll go ahead and jump aboard this ship-wagon. It’s a nice pairing.

3. Reasons why I do/don’t ship them;

I really enjoy human/non-human pairings. I also enjoy Light Hope growing beyond her programmed parameters due to companionship and love. Makes me feel snuggly inside.

4. Headcanon, if any:

I enjoy the concept of Mara just telling Light Hope stories of her adventures around Etheria. I enjoy the idea of Light Hope having all of the factual information about Etheria stored in her databanks, but looking forward to Mara telling her about things anyway because she enjoys the emotional connection she feels from these more personal stories. I like to imagine them spending long evenings together, Mara talking and laughing, Light Hope sort of pseudo-drowsing (or whatever AI does) while listening. Just quiet, gentle evenings together. Mhmm.

She’s under a lavender.  I wanted a wild lilac—they're a native plant where we rescued her, she was a lilac-point, and she wasn’t as prickly as Esmy—but that got vetoed on the grounds that it’s more of a tree than a shrub.  (Later, I found out that there are prone wild lilacs...should have gotten one of those.)

I found your tumblr through your ao3, I read One of those days, wonderfully hot and full of love at the same time, and Just One Dance - I was first pulled in by your amazing portrayal of the simmering sexual tension between them, the vibe of the club you captured, and stayed for the feels. I know you have a new wip, I just want to ask if you plan to update it. No pressure, I'm a writer myself and know how it's like, just wanted to say it's a great fic and I'm on the edge of my seat

Hello and thank you so much for your ask!! I’m really glad you enjoyed those fics so much and the feelings I tried to express in them!! Your comment really means a lot!!

I do still plan to update Just One Dance, but the chapter I’m working on has been giving me a lot of trouble. I’m hoping that my recent break to work on the fic that is now nearly complete will let me go back with a fresh perspective to get the next installment done. It’s definitely one I want to give some attention to in the near future so I hope you will look forward to it!!

LOL, not to say this didn't happen several times, but I think Viktor must have known Yuuri disliked him (he even meant to ask why in ch 8 when they dance, if my interpretation is correct). Otherwise it would make the "I hate you now fuck me." line so much worse. Anyway, I didn't mean to rant on your post, I just don't want Viktor to not know at all what he was getting into and suffering even more during that scene.

I’m sure he’s aware of some of Yuuri’s animosity, initially at any rate, but I still think a lot of Yuuri’s actions might easily be misconstrued. At least in a way that Yuuri is giving off rather mixed signals. As for the entire “I hate you, now fuck me”, I always thought that Viktor was quite taken aback by it, but again, we only have Yuuri’s account for now, and I need moar! I especially need to know what happened in Sochi. Dammit, drunk Yuuri, why can’t you remember the embarrassing things you do and just die a little the next day at the recollection, like the rest of us?
