Red Lotus Week: Day 7 - Red Lotus Korra

So with a prompt like this, I think it was obvious from the start what I was gonna do))

Based on that one picture of the woman in the 90s helping her kids beat a Super Mario level :)

Here’s a redraw of some art I did back in January - a crossover between my fic, Seeds of the Red Lotus, and Empty and Become Wind from the Fate Amenable to Change series by @esaleyon and @felicity-kitten

(I would post the original piece I did as a comparison but it’s honestly kinda bad so let’s erase that from our memories shall we-)

It’s been a while since I made any crossover art for Seeds of the Red Lotus and Empty and Become Wind, huh? Well, this time y’all get a screenshot edit

So do we all remember that one scene from season 4 of She-Ra?

I had a galaxy brain moment and produced this, which is what I imagine were the background events of that one scene in chapter 14 of EaBW when Korra was almost kidnapped by Tarrlok’s task force and Asami got injured saving her:

For the record, Suiren can’t actually talk to seagulls, but I kept the joke in because it sends me into giggles every time

Oh also, Suiren is standing on a crate in this picture because her three younger sisters are all taller than her and don’t take her seriously

So a few days ago I was scrolling through Pinterest, like I always do, when I stumbled upon this photo:

And that’s when I was struck with an idea

I am, ONCE AGAIN, rereading Empty and Become Wind from the Fate Amenable to Change series by @esaleyon and @felicity-kitten (I will NEVER stop gushing about how amazing that series is I swear! I’ve been rereading it non stop definitely not because I’m lowkey in love with Nazra what the hell are you talking about???), and I must admit, ever since I drew that piece of Nazra interacting with my Mingzan child OCs, Suiren and Midori, I’ve been rather keen on imagining an EaBW AU where the two of them are along for the ride as well.

And so I borrowed the amazing character of Nazra again in order to create this replica of the photo above:

Have I mentioned that I would literally die for these children? Because I would. Don’t test me.

BONUS:

Ming-Hua is annoyed while Senna has already accepted her defeat

(Senna is also lowkey hard to draw. Why is Ming-Hua the only one I can draw with no issues? It’s probably the no arms thing)

And yeah, there’s definitely gonna be more where this came from! My Red Lotus hyperfixation came back in full swing so you can (hopefully) expect more crossovers between Empty and Become Wind and Seeds of the Red Lotus soon (if I don’t drown in school work starting next week)

I was bored and decided to draw up a little something based off a conversation I had with the amazing @felicity-kitten while we were discussing a crossover AU between my fic, Seeds of the Red Lotus, and Empty and Become Wind from the Fate Amenable to Change series she’s working on with @esaleyon

The basic gist was that while Suiren, Nazra, Korra and Midori are all attracted to girls in some way, Suiren can never seem to get a date. She turns heads left and right but no one really catches her eye, and she gets REALLY frustrated over the whole thing. Especially when her younger sorta-sisters seem to have everything figured out:
