Little Agatekit has just come across a very lonely Dark Forest cat named Sparkglisten, murderous daughter of Cornflowerstar. Agatekit refused to sleep after being woken up by her own shock.

Agatekit continues to dream herself into the Dark Forest. Shockingly, Sparkglisten is much friendlier than her eerie appearance.

Like most pastoral societies, felins are constantly faced with the risk of rival clans and tribes trying to raid their livestock. It is normal for shepherds to be armed with their greaves and gauntlets out in the pasturelands.

Maketh, the young leader of his pride, has found himself in a particularly dangerous situation. A rival herdsman has attacked him in broad daylight—a sign of either great desperation or bald-faced aggression. Either way, caution has been thrown to the wind. In such a situation, there are very strict rules of engagement. Maketh relies first on his staff, which all felins carry, to batter and bash his enemy into retreat or submission. If this fails, gauntleted fists and shins are employed to take the enemy to the ground. After giving one final warning to yield, a felin will then employ his claws and go for the kill.

Here, Maketh has engaged the raider in a fierce staff duel, landing a solid shot to the intruder’s jaw and drawing blood. He hopes the raider will flee, and that he doesn’t have more friends waiting just over the hills.
