Occupation: Rainfall (2020)

My rating: 5/10

I had no idea this was a sequel, but it doesn't really matter because the plot matters very little - it's basically an Independence Day with the serial numbers filed off, and as that, it works okay. Effects are honestly pretty solid, too, all things considered. I'll probably check out the first one someday, and if I come across the sequel (this does end on a cliffhanger, which is unfortunate and I'm deducing half a star for that), I'll watch that too.

Synopsis: A comedic retelling of the story of Australia's most famous Bush Ranger, Ned Kelly.

What of it? I really like this film. Yes, it's a rude, crude and silly film, but I never fail to laugh at it.

It's not an Earth shattering story by any stretch of the imagination, it's just a funny comedy that doesn't take itself seriously.

There are some clever/funny parallels to the real story of Ned Kelly which will give you a laugh, as well as a lot of potty humor.

I can't pretend that this film is for everyone, because it isn't. To be honest, I don't actually even think this is a film for anyone outside of Australia. It's one of those films that has a uniquely Australian sense of humor, and if you don't get our humor, then you'll most likely despise this.

With that said, I'm an Aussie and I think it's funny.
