It's a favor at first, but it's also her job. To help those who have been wounded in duty, either physically or mentally, or both. Sam took her job very seriously, so when she was offered the case by a SHIELD agent, she didn't feel like she had much of a choice but to take it. Not only was it a SHIELD job, but the guy was wounded in the line of duty. It was right up her alley.

His file said he;d been knocked out by some kind of super human, beaten up pretty badly in the end. She couldn't imagine him being too pleased with the situation he was stuck in now that his organization was in shambles. 

Still, she'd do her best to help him out, whatever she could do. She walked into his room with no expectations, just a warm grin and a friendly, "Hey, how's it going?"

This wasn’t the first time she had to half carry an injured agent out of a hostile area and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. But the fact of the matter is, if she hadn’t found Blake when she did….Dethlok would have killed him for sure. Truth was Melinda was actually quite enjoying his little quips including trying to guess her horoscope, she was glad he didn’t die on her watch.

"One more minute and you would have been killed," She said trying to be a straight minded as she could, "consider yourself luckily." She turned and gave him a small smile, "You were right you know…..about me being a Scorpio." She said in hopes to distract him from the pain.

"Agent Blake, sir" Jemma nervously shifted her weight from one foot to another. "May I help you?" she looked at the older agent waiting for his response. She knew he was not exactly very fond about Coulson and his team interfering with S.H.I.E.L.D. missions and she wondered what he was doing here on the Bus - in the lab?

Melinda raised an eyebrow. Felix Blake was one of the most honest men she knew. Anything he found to be troubling or was uncomfortable with he would definitely voice his concerns. He couldn’t possibly be…”What are you hiding from me Agent Blake?”
