sore winner | felix + costin
@felix-tee:
[Though he’s quite happy to see Costin joining him, he won’t smile too much for it because it’ll take away from the effect of his moping and give away the fact that maybe it’s not all that dramatic or life-shattering after all—and because as quickly as the rush of pleasure comes at the sight of him, so does the sense of bewilderment at the question.
A… smacked arse? Oh, he’d be offended if it were anyone else, but he reminds himself that Costin does talk kind of weird, considering the language thing. Plus… Felix hates to admit it but he is Australian (not that he hates admitting he’s Australian, he loves that bit—he just hates admitting that he has fewer reasons to be offended by something), and crass turns of phrases are sort of the Australian way. He’s not familiar with this one… but he’s heard far worse in far more causal context.
So he offers a weak smile but allows himself a light eyeroll nonetheless.] Gee, thanks Costin. You look as handsome as ever. [He sighs, looking back down at his bowl, chin still in his hand.] I’m just tired and sore. Last night was the actual worst.
[It takes him a moment to realise that the ‘handsome’ comment isn’t just an offhanded flirtatious comment of the sort that Felix is so prone to making, but in fact a sarcastic response to the smacked arse comment. Ah.
He’s come to accept he’ll probably never be good at the ‘tact’ thing. But Fee doesn’t seem too hung up on it, clearly wrapped up in his misery. Costin and Ana hadn’t had a great time, but Fee seems to have fared even worse - although, he does remind himself that Fee has a flair for drama. He knows how to blow things out of proportion. On the other hand, he’s had a pampered life, and the Games probably are brutal compared to that. Constantin might have had a tough time, but training for the air force had taught him to weather discomfort.]
They vas more difficult and serious than I think before. [He nods; he won’t tease Felix, because clearly this is something he wants to take seriously. Covering his mouth with his hand (because it’s rude to speak with your mouth full, but he’s hungry and doesn’t want to wait for another bite of his breakfast), he asks:] You had very bad time, huh?
[If he knows Felix as well as he thinks, Fee just wants a forum to vent his frustrations. A lot of people seem not to want to listen to him, because he’s spoiled, or because he’s got a bad attitude about a lot of things. It’s not that Constantin disagrees with those things, but he’s also very fond of Felix, and has no problem listening to him unburden his woes about the Games.]
