So why civil engineering?

Science!

We keep doing crazy awesome projects

The pay is good

The job outlook is also good= job security

I may have had some inspiration

I can think in pictures, which is really helpful for wrapping my head around how and why a material behaves as it does

There’s a comradery that exists between us engineering students for surviving school together.

I have an interest in disasters and disaster prevention

I also love city planning, fluids, outer space, physics, computers and a lot of other things that can be tied into engineering

And a few  things that can’t, but with my sufficient pay, that’s what hobbies are for!

And finally, engineers have the power to change the world in a very large scale, tangible way.  I want to use my education and passion for what I do to help make the world a better place.  ^_^  It’s a rather corny way to end my post, but the truth is I think that is what is driving me the most of all.

Thanks. I am not that worried about them, what happens happens I will retake what I have to so it will all work out eventually.

That sounds like fun. Yea my finals are next week. I have never wanted a semester to be over this bad since I've been in college. Hopefully I can get caught up on everything outside of school.

Well I hope you do well in your finals if you're that eager to get this semester out of the way!

That's neat. Outside of school how is everything else?

It's good. I'm going to London this weekend so that should be exciting. My last lectures and seminars for this semester are next week so christmas break isn't so far away.

It was I had to take it twice passed the second time and I never studied. :-/

See, bad karma. Some people never study and happen to come out with good marks which I think is just down to the way their brains work. I always revise before my exams just because no doing it would be such a risk for me to take.

nope we went in at 800 AM and had an hour lunch from 1200 to 1 then finished the exam from 1-500PM all on a Saturday.

That's like prison.

Yea our regular class exams don't tell you typically they just walk through them in the class. The test I was referring to is a nationwide standard test. 8 hours. All of our regular class stuff is graded by the professor.

Wow, 8 hours? Is that an exam where you do the hours which accumulate to 8? I did a 5 hour exam when I was 16 where we worked official hours on our exam at school which collectively made the 5 up.

Yeah it reminds me of the Engineer in training or Fundamentals of Engineering exam took before I graduated last semester. I had to take it twice it's a pass or fail test no score they just base it across the board everyone who takes it they pool all the grades across the country for that test day and 50% pass the rest fail. They tell you what you need to improve on if you fail, if you pass nothing is given other than a certificate.

When we pass exams or assignments, we get told what we did well and where we can improve. Some of them get sent off to be moderated so the marking is accurate.
