Aegon plans to use her to force the Blacks to surrender but also sees the convenience of marrying her and forcing her to give him children (in the book he is apparently excited about the "strong" children that Cassandra Baratheon can give him) Also he can't let a northern savage *Cregan* steal a Targaryen princess, his ancestors would roll in their graves if he lets that happen and Aegon as his uncle and king has the right to choose a suitable husband for Jace
In his head he becomes obsessed with Jace and the wedding, if necessary he will have their bedding ceremony with the lords present including Cregan to make it clear that Rhaenyra's heir is now his
