Fanfic Confessions (it’s been awhile)

“I’ll write a short, tropey Game of Thrones fic,” I said. “It will be short,” I said. “It will be all my favourite tropes that don’t really work in my actual fandom,” I said. “It won’t have a real plot, just pining and handwaving,” I said. “Shouldn’t take more than a couple of days,” I said.

I was a motherfucking liar.

Honestly, there’s a plot. It’s sprawling. Youtube has decided that I need a playlist composed of Mark Knopfler, Ruth Moody/The Wailin’ Jennys, and Whitehorse; that’s a cohesive fucking TONE. I might have to rewrite the entire existing section to change tense because nobody wants to read 50K of present tense, and more importantly I am incapable of WRITING 50K of present tense. (It won’t be 50K, thank god, but it sure as shit isn’t going to be the 3-5K I had accounted for either.)
