The noble compound is not exactly what Ariadne would consider a safe place. The upper classes are notoriously untrustworthy. That’s why she came armed and armoured. But she does expect a degree of security from somewhere that Inquisitors would agree to meet each other.

As such she’s not really on her guard, passing the time in one of the excessively decorated courtyards playing cards with a couple of the storm troopers. Because of course she’s not invited to the actual discussion. It would be completely unreasonable for Evelyn to bring one of her Interrogators to a conversation, or keep her in the loop at all. She isn’t bitter.

And she certainly isn’t expecting hostile xenos.
