6: How comfortable is your OC in their skin? Do they like who they are? What would they like to change about themselves?
Fern is overtly happy with who he is, though I think deep down he still feels guilt it's just very suppressed (like not aware of it at all suppressed), Cole's guilt on the other hand is way less suppressed! He may say it is but mentally he is spiralling and he does not feel good in his own bones at all. His denial and the general attitude he's put on protects him from the worst of his self hatred. (This is not helped by Fern, in fact he makes it his job to guilt-trip Cole, who in turn forces more denial, which makes Fern thinks he needs MORE guilting.) Cole's basically brute forced acceptance of himself. He's decided fuck it, this is how he is and if what he is is a bad person then he couldn't give less of a shit. Which. Is not true but, whatever helps him sleep at night.
I think they both wish they could go back to being the people they were before, Fern wishes he was either still unfeeling as Flowey, or that he was still Asriel. Cole wishes he'd listened to his Dream and not plunged his Multiverse into decay
14: Does your OC hold grudges? How good are they at letting things go? Do they believe in second chances?
God this is a very pertinent one for these two. SO Fern does not hold any particular grudges even against Cole I wouldn't call it a grudge as he's truly trying to help Cole. Cole however still feels very deeply that he was betrayed by the guardians of his Multiverse, he saw them as caretakers somewhat and the fact that they denied him the right to his own soul, to his own creativity felt terrible to him. He knows what he wanted was selfish, but at the time he really thought it was the only way he could be free from his soulless misery. So yeah. He has mixed feelings about Dream especially. Neither of them are good at letting things go. They cling to their anger like mollusks to rocks. And do they believe in second chances? Cole believes that his chance has passed, his multiverse is gone and he's not getting it back. He doesn't think he can ever be redeemed. And actually my eyes are stinging a little because he'll never ever get to say sorry to the people he loved most and I think we should move onto Fern. And Fern.. hm. I don't know if you could say he believes in second chances. He believes in atonement in paying for your sins tenfold. To him if you suffer equal or more than you made others suffer (very loosey goosey bro. That shit is not objective in the slightest) then you've learned your lesson. And you're not even free of guilt yet. It's just, retribution. Justice I guess. Punishment. Though he does enforce that shit on Cole he's also a lot more lax when it comes to what Cole can get away with without Fern making a total fuss.
16: Is there anybody your OC has lost contact with? What happened?
Fern with Toriel mostly, maybe his Fallen human, the death of his multiverse was some freak accident. Cole with the guardians and Error from his own multiverse. And he just fucking killed them. Not on purpose but he is the direct cause of their deaths. As well as everyone's death in his multiverse.
25: What is your OC's deepest desire? Would they ever ask for this?
Fern's deepest desire hm... I feel like he's so content with his life that there's nothing he'd really desire more. And for Cole I guess,, forgiveness? I don't know if he'd ask. There's no one to ask anymore.
