Pictures of the first production of the circus inspired Romeo and Juliet by the Grupo Galpão, at the city of Belo Horizonte in 1992.

The actress Wanda Fernandes, who played Juliet and was married in real life with Eduardo Moreira, the actor who played Romeo, sadly dyed in a car accident two years later.

In subsequent productions, the role of Juliet was played by the actress Fernanda Vianna.

Romeo & Juliet: at the Globe Theatre

In this documentary, made with portable cameras to follow a rule them extablished by the the Globe Theatre that forbided filming their interiour and productions with tripoded cameras, is registered the reception by english audiences of Grupo Galpão's first performance of their Romeu e Julieta in Shakespeare's homeland, in the year of 2000.

"Another extremely important moment for Galpão took place at the beginning of the year 2000: the presentation — in two seasons — of “Romeo and Juliet” at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, in London. About this great achievement, the group recorded on their website: “‘Romeo e Julieta’ would be the first Brazilian show to go on this stage for two weeks of season. The English, inveterate lovers of the theater and, especially, of Shakespeare, filled all the performances and what until then sounded like infidelity, would be consecrated as a rescue of the most genuine popular heritage of the English playwright's theater”.
