Living somewhere new
A story that gradually sucks you in once you realise that this isn’t a village where it is all sweetness and love. This is a village with its normal share of people who both and hate, have grudges and affairs, and generally cause happiness and grief in equal measure.
There is a surprise ending to the mystery of the letters and a few tears can be shed in the last chapters if you are so inclined.
Overall, a well plotted and written book.
PS – North Cornwall can look like this, while south Cornwall has sunshine!
Rough Sea

Cornwall in the sun?
This is a story very much in the tradition of family sagas set in the West Country. Indeed, this is set in a fictional Cornwall. One I do not recognise. Where the sun shines (see the usual amount of rain for Western England: http://www.cornwalllive.com/cornwall-in-the-rain-here-are-seven-things-only-people-in-cornwall-know-about-the-wet-stuff/story-30164588-detail/story.html); and locals embrace newcomers and welcome them.
But this is feel-good summer holiday reading where the title promises a Postcard of Importance, but fails to deliver.
Clearly intended as the first of a family saga from the final paragraph.
So excited to get back into some reading.📚 ____________________________________________________ #nowreading #bookhaul #thecouplenextdoor #sharilapena #thriller #books #thepostcard #fernbritton #sundaytimesbestseller #bookworm
