'went to a murder party in Ferney-Voltaire and I loved that Voltaire and Rousseau were each other's alibi
What were they doing when the murder was committed ? They were together. Arguing.

Ferney-Voltaire, France
Ferney Voltaire now sells shitty little badges with a shitty minimalist portrait of Voltaire and apparently on the backside there a fucking QR code that you can scan to "Talk to Voltaire" but obvs it's a fucking AI
Like sure, I guess you can ask the AI Wikipédia-worthy question like "when were you born ?"
But otherwise would an AI come up with half the shit Voltaire said in real life ? Have at least 1% percent of his colorful personality ? I don't think so
Last year at the Ferney-Voltaire's Halloween murder party the dude playing Rousseau kept forgetting what he had to do (die, publicly. that's all), the dude playing Voltaire was very blasé and clearly didn't study his role or the scenario (kept forgetting who was who), the dude playing d'Alembert was a talkative, shady delight (playing a false lead), and all the ladies were awesome
so this year the awesome ladies said fuck it, gave the role of Voltaire to the dude who played d'Alembert last year, and the role of Rousseau and another male character (Charles de Villette) to ladies !
and lots and lots of kids, teenagers, but also adults didn't pay attention to their costuming and initially addressed them as "Madame", but they all corrected them while staying in character
Years of thinking about Voltaire being cozy in dressing-gowns in Ferney and I had no idea they actually have one of the gowns !! (saw it last Sunday in a temporary exhibition)
A sunny Sunday in Ferney-Voltaire, sky not clear enough for the view on the Alps to be truly gorgeous, but you can make out the white shape of the Mont-Blanc if you squint or zoom in
Laughing at the statues of Voltaire and Rousseau in the entrance hall of Voltaire's home (Ferney-Voltaire). It was the 19C owners, the David-Lambert, who decided to reunite them like this.
