There are many reasons for this: legendary history, racing success, outstanding performance, advanced technology and unique design, as well as the sales philosophy laid down by Enzo Ferrari, according to which the company always produced fewer cars than the market required. Unsurprisingly, eight of the ten most expensive cars ever sold at auction were built in Maranello.

The Conciso was a passion project for German designer Bernd Michalak, he developed it in 1993 as a “sport-barquette” version of the 328, with uncompromising styling and a kerb weight 30% lower than its production car.

To create its showpiece, Michalak took a low-mileage 328 GTS and removed everything, barring the original drivetrain and running gear. They clothed the chassis in an aluminium alloy bodyshell, featuring no doors, no weatherproofing, an impossibly low-cut windshield and a minimalist interior. A 30-percent weight savings ensued, which brought about significant performance gains to accompany the striking wedge-shaped aesthetics: 0–100 km/h in five seconds and a claimed top speed of 278 km/h.

There are recesses in the internal sides of the cockpit for crash helmets, which you would probably want to wear as the car has no roll bar.
