Ferretclaw! He is a backgroud appentice from Omen of the Stars, who has a handful of speaking lines and very little besides stock responses and patrol appearances. He is described as cream and grey in most allegiances, so I made him a grey point, because why not. He becomes a warrior in the Forgotten Warrior and lives through the final battle, but vanishes from the continuity after Bramblestar's Storm. He is mentored by Oakfur and mentors Spikefur, and has no known kin. He could potentially still be alive but I feel like it's been so long that he has to have died or left the clans forever to be a kittypet.

I didn't know the cats knew what ferrets were tbh. I googled it to make sure and they don't live in the wild except for the black-footed ferret of North America, but also "ferret" is kind of the word for a domesticated polecat so I think a black-footed ferret would just be a species of polecat? Anyway, it doesn't matter because they don't live in the wild in the UK

I really didn't want to change his name because it's cute so my explanation is that the Warrior Clans know about ferrets in the same way they know about dogs and domestic rabbits and chickens. I imagine the Clans would probably still react weirdly to a kit named Ferretkit though, like a stoat is incredibly similar and not a pet of twolegs. Though I suppose you could make the same argument for cats like Houndleap and Houndstar- why name them after twoleg pets instead of the wild wolf? Maybe his parents just had weird naming tastes.

Anyway yapping over, I think he's playful but kind of arrogant and jerkish. To me he is ShadowClan Berrynose. Also!! I've given up on having all the tortoiseshell toms be trans or intersex because it's honestly really limiting family-tree wise and its not like im following any other genetic rules but this particular guy can be whatever you want since I do not need him for family tree purposes so headcanon away
