[ milton knight in shining armour ]
i have one of my favourite old-school comic/animation artists friend'd on FB, Mr. Milton Knight. he's been in the industry since before i was born and worked on a lot of my favourite things (like "Cool World" and "The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat"). his style is so Fleischer-y; so Clampetty, while still being kinda gritty and grimy like Crumb.
i fangirl every time i get to have any sort of discussion with him. i look up to his blatant natural skill and love to talk about slapstick with him. his drawings are so naturally animated (not to mention, seeing another black artist in the field make me so happy/proud). I WANT TO BE HIM SO BADLY.
...but, seeing as he's as old-head that doesnt particularly 'get' anime, im so glad that he doesnt get mad at me when i affectionately/mockingly call him "senpai".
