ferris bueller anon. i DO have ot3 thoughts. cam has been in love with ferris since basically at first sight (kindergarten), but he doesn't realize that's what that is. ferris has also been in love with cam since first sight. at first he didn't say anything because he didn't realize that was a Special feeling, and after growing to know that he didn't say anything because he wanted to let cam come to him first if cam ever wanted to. it's not until ferris and sloane start dating that cam figures it out and then he thinks he's Too Late. sloane was kind of hip to the situation to begin with, it's just easy for her to make leaps past normative ideas - that's why she and ferris are so good together. and she thinks cam is cute as hell, and that cam and ferris are Extra Extra cute when they're together, and they're both also Extra cute when they're with her because she makes them go all soft and flirty which is both hugely attractive and deeply funny. anyway so she just takes it upon herself to treat cam like a boyfriend-to-be while she waits. she flirts with him, kisses his cheeks, holds his hand, cuddles with him, shares food with him, borrows his clothes, etc. and cam is going thru this minor crisis of Oh Shit I'm Falling In Love With My Best Friend's Girl, but on the other hand he's relieved like oh does this mean at least I'm not in love with ferris anymore? but then ofc when he checks he is still in love with ferris and he's like Oh Of Course Why Would This Be Normal. he starts to be more obvious about it despite his best efforts. ferris doesn't notice because he's a big fluffy idiot, but sloane picks up on it immediately like oh he finally gets it. so she's the one to tell ferris It's Time, and they set about wooing cam. ofc they don't think to use their words though, so there are major delays while cam thinks he's reading too much into their behavior due to his Terminal Pining Disease.
This is so fucking cute dude I literally?????? this is so good??? Cameron and Ferris definitely did all the “we’re married” games as kids like oh? we are swinging at the same speed and meeting at the top? married. And yeah I absolutely think they are both fascinated with each other and are both like “wow I can’t believe he’s my best friend” and when Sloane comes along she fits into their dynamic perfectly and has fun watching them struggle to figure out their feelings but is also the reason they fully realize their feelings!! And poor Cam omg stuck between “I’m falling for my best friends girl” and “I’m falling for my best friend’s girl’s boyfriend” and “oh wait. I’m falling for both” LOL and if Ferris ever did realize he’d be like “dude is Cameron trying to steal Sloane” but also “dude why is Cameron trying to steal Sloane and not me” meanwhile Sloane is like “:’) idiots to lovers courtesy of me”
