Wait fuck I've figured it out. Wrap it around something round, like a paper tube, around it's circumference. And then the number is it's diameter. So if it's like a sphere, or something and you can't put a straight line to determine diameter you can still figure it out.

The dia. is typically short for diameter, and it looks to be approximately 3.15 cm? so maybe its measuring pi?

I looked up “Pi tape” and it definitely isn’t this... so now im like “so if it shows ‘pi’.... what tf do you do with that??” Like if i wanna measure diameter with a measuring tape, i’d just go around with the actual tape...?? I’m so confused lol
