socialism doesnt have any sort of focus on the wider social reasons for class privilege - sexism, ableism, etc. whereas communism does! its about equality and fairness, but socialism’s a bit like.. underdeveloped imo in terms of class abolishment
like socialism is not w/o faults obv, but usually communism (transitional communism??? idk what do u call it when it is On The Way 2 utopian??) involves a totalitarian state and although its philosophy might be all about common property and providing for the masses and equality, it doesnt do that in practice and in most instances it ends up being very very oppressive and bad and really does not eliminate class distinctions. and socialism in theory does provide for everyone's basic needs and attempt to diminish class distinctions--ownership is often ascribed to workers, and means of production are socially owned but surplus value often goes directly to the workers. i mean obv it might not be so great in practice but i think lauding communism when it has proved to be so oppressive in the past is just a lil insensitive idk
