August 29, Shitla Satam.
Shitla Satam is a significant festival in Gujarat. It is celebrated according to the beliefs that Goddess Shitla would protect her worshipers and their families from diseases like measles and chickenpox. On this day, the stove is not to be lit and the food which is consumed should be made the day before and is served cold.
