M Team 15. “That was a perfect example of how not to do things.” HAVE FUN.

Donnie couldn’t help but bury his face with the palmsof his hands. His groan muffled, and he gazes up to see Raph breaking what hewanted to fix, even more.

“Raph,” Donnie said, lines appearing on his foreheadfrom frustration, and he walks forward to yank the wrench out of his immediateolder brother’s hand.  “That was aperfect example of how not to dothings.” And by thing, he meant toaster, because it was still in dismantlepieces and Raphael willingly came forwardto help, which clearly spelled bad news. He was twisting everything inincorrectly and cluttering up the nails that will be soon useless.

“What the hell, Don.” Raph turned around, and hishands form into fists. “I was being a good brother, and tried helping you outand you do this?” His eyes narrowed,huffing with obvious irritation.

“What you were doing was breaking the toaster evenmore!” Donnie squawks out, kind of awkward, but his hands go up in the airand even with the wrench in his right hand he puts both hands on his head. “Ican do it myself, Raph.” He murmurs, his voice weakening, his hands droppingand shoulders slumping. He could always do it by himself. He has been for years. Don didn’t understand why Raphsuddenly wanted to help, his brother was the muscle not the brains of the team.

“Well, Leo isn’t going to help ya.” Raph mutters and evenwith the hint of anger, Donnie can easily note how Raph’s eyes soften and hestarts to regret being too harsh.

“We always break stuff, and you’re always fixing. Ithought if I helped, you’ll have more time to do things Leo’s forcing you todo. And hey, Leo breaks this toasterlike every month, I just… felt bad.” Raph shrugged like it was no big deal, butto Donnie it was a huge deal. Hedoesn’t remember when he even slept. Not only is he working on the Party Wagonthat’s been partially exploded and torn, but he’s also been working on thingsfor the lair. Because someone always has to break them and it’s meant forDonnie to pick up the broken things and fix it.

 Donnie’s eyes showsudden remorse, and the wrench nearly falls from his lax fingers. “Here.” Afirm line is formed from his lips, and he hands Raphael the wrench. “I canshow you a few things to fix in case if something happens to me.”

Raph turned to Donnie, his lips tugging to a smile. “Theonly thing that’s going to happen to you is being knocked out if you try sassingme once again.” And with that, Raph scoots the chair forward, and waited for Donnie’swords to fix the toaster that Leo has managed to break.

13: What’s your favorite writing quote?

“First drafts don’t have to be perfect. They just have to be written.”

Honestly, I get super stressed when writing rough drafts because I just want it perfect. It’s not like editing is a bad thing. I’m really insecure about my writing mostly because there’s lots of great fanfic writers out there and I’m always trying to be the same level as them, so I can’t really sit and write without thinking that I have to write perfectly. So, I like rereading this quote to remind myself that it doesn’t have to be perfect.

22: Do you start with characters or plot?

Plot. The characters are already created, since you know I don’t create my own characters. So, I focus more on the plot. It’s what the readers honestly care about ( despite looking for their fav. character centric fanfic), the plot is what grabs their attention. My goal when writing is to write a story that only has been written in the fandom maybe twice? I just try to avoid the cliche, like, Raph getting angry at Leo and leaving the lair. Because that happens so many times in the show/fanfics, so yeahhh, I avoid all costs of that.

28: Which do you find the hardest: The beginning, the middle or the end?

MIDDLE. Beginning and end of chapters is what usually comes naturally to me, but middle is basically the whole reason why the two buns close, to keep everything inside the sandwich. (If that makes sense). The beginning can be boring since it’s setting up the new chapter, OR finishing that cliff hanger from last chapter, but having to continue that part is a struggle for me. Cause, I can’t just end it right there and then. It needs to be more creative since people tend to stop reading mid way of the story cause they got bored.
