It was an honor to share the stage with so many fantastic performers at Wink & Whistle. Thank you @feverlesque for putting on a fabulous evening of entertainment. My “Behind The Phantom Mask” act is a special number. It was created and developed when I was trying to recover from vocal cord damage back in 2015. Because I’m a singer, deciding to do a non-singing dance number was way out of my comfort zone and a big deal. This act was created as a result of pain and anger. But out of the negative came this piece of art that I got to share. I worry every time I perform this act. I’m a stronger singer than I am a dancer. I am always concerned that this act won’t live up to my singing acts. I was a nervous wreck following an amazing comedic number last night. But once I stepped on that stage in that blinged out mask I embraced the darkness of this act and I left all my feelings and passion on that stage. The audience enjoyed it. They were along for the ride. Afterwards people were telling me there was nothing to worry about. So I pat myself on the back for branching out from comedic singing and channeling sensual darkness of this piece through dancing. It’s almost 4 years later and this number has evolved and changed, but the concept hasn’t. You never know who is behind the mask.
