(Nomura talking about Noctis/Stella from ff13Versus)
See this is why I can’t get behind the idea “Nomura can’t write/doesn’t want to write romance (therefore soriku can’t happen)” which I’ve heard multiple times. I think it’s more that he doesn’t have an interest in writing simplistic romances that people usually expect (especially when it comes to het romances). From what we saw in trailers it seemed that whatever romance there was between Noctis and Stella, they couldn’t be together because of fate or expectations or whatever forcing them to fight each other. As Nomura says, it was “difficult”.
And well. We know how much Stella/Noctis seemed to mirror Sora/Riku thematically. And now their counterparts in Nameless Star/Yozora.
