Abandonment. While he'd prefer to blame his scars on grand cosmic tragedies or the "burden of duty", the core of his being can be defined by the fear that he is fundamentally easy to leave.
We can start with the foundation: His Parents. Time and Night didn't raise him in the normal concept. His relationship with them was more transactional and he buried the belief that if he isn't useful or perfect in his function, he has no value. This perpetuated his rigidity only for that to be the reason everyone leaves in the end.
And then there's the Evidence: his failed loves. Every major romantic tragedy in his life follows a pattern of abandonment or a "betrayal" of his trust. Rather than seeing these relationships as complex, he interprets them as proof of his own unlovability.
Finally, we have the Century of Silence. A hundred years of imprisonment was the ultimate manifestation of this wound. He sat in that glass cage. He waited for his siblings. He waiting for his realm. And for a long time, he felt forgotten. When he finally escaped, he didn't just come back angry; he came back frantically and desperately to re-establish his importance.
To admit this wound is to admit his need for others.
