Queen Sphene(s) of Alexandria

i’m so normal about sphene, like, totally normal

i don’t really have a theory or analysis to like, justify whatever is going on here, it’s just ~vibes~

but the vibes are generally based around the double reveal at the end of 7.1 and also just. identity + sphene in general

like

the sphene we meet is kind and good and genuinely lovely, and cares so deeply that she’d do unspeakable things to protect her people

she is also shackled to the wills of her masters/creators/programming.

she wants to protect living memory bc it’s her people, she was also programmed to do it

and if the part of her that wants to do it because she cares makes things a little to difficult or messy, the part of her programmed to do it can just. kill the other part.

and then if she is killed altogether well, just boot up a new copy like nothing happened

not to mention, the Original Sphene is a stranger to us? filtered through the memories of others and an Endless copy that by virtue of having programming, cannot be entirely true to who she was.

but yeah i’m normal about sphene

hearing about Krile and G'raha's work compiling information- Aryaille is so glad that's not her job XD

about Y'shtola:

this is the opposite of a problem. Aryaille's like oh I'd better make sure I have plenty of tea to make for her, and also find the best shop for baked treats

Telling her where Thancred went is funny, cause she would be out there with him except she promised Ruvoll Ja and the others she'd help at the gainery (plus it wouldn't be be fair to make Urianger third wheel XD)
